If you know anything about me, you know I LOVE Teagan Hunter. She’s one of my closest friends. The peanut butter to my jelly. The yin to my yang.
Any-who… She was kind enough to stop by and answer a few questions for you. YAY!
♦♦♦Stay tuned until the end of this post for a #GIVEAWAY for a kindle set of 4 books♦♦♦
1. What’s it like being married to a Marine?
Entertaining. Difficult. Exhausting. Amazing. Take your pick. Because of his job, it’s incredibly difficult to make plans and to stick with them, so that part gets obnoxious rather quickly. I also don’t get to see him as often as I’d like, especially since he is stateside and works just a few minutes from home. But, I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything. This experience has been amazing and it’s made our strong bond even stronger.
2. Which of your characters do you relate to the most? Why?
Rae, because what the fuck is a filter? Second would be Haley.
3. When writing, I have to listen to music. It’s an absolute must for me. The TV has to be off and I can only have certain types of artists playing. What are your writing quirks?
This varies from book to book. When I wrote Here’s to Tomorrow, it mainly happened at Starbucks while only listening to a band called Transit (they are frequently mentioned in the novel). For Here’s to Yesterday, I primarily listened to Mayday Parade and worked at Starbucks exclusively. For Here’s to Forever, I wrote when/wherever I could. Here’s to Now was…yeah. That book was so hard to write. So, I guess my long-winded answer is that I don’t have many quirks. I write where I feel comfortable with music that puts me in the mood. Oh, and I always have a cup of coffee nearby.
4. Who has been your biggest inspiration?
Writing wise? Colleen Hoover (that hurts to type). She’s this giving, amazing, selfless woman, and I truly admire that. She doesn’t forget where she came from and she doesn’t hold herself in higher standards to anyone. Her career is calm and real. I love that.
In general? My husband. He knows why.
5. Since publishing your first novel, what has been your biggest reader compliment? Toughest criticism?
I get a lot of compliments on my snark and how real/relatable my characters are. I think the toughest criticism would be the same. Further proof that not everyone reads the same books. 😉
6. If you could trade places with any fictional character who would it be and why?
Any? It doesn’t have to be one of mine, right? Layken Cooper. Why? Because she’s married to Will Cooper and I’d love a piece of that.
7. What are two things readers would be surprised to know about you?
Um…I don’t know. This is hard because I’m pretty much an open book. Maybe that I’ve worked behind the scenes in the industry for 6 years. I suppose something else would be that I did not start watching Supernatural when it premiered in 2005. I’ve only been watching it since 2012.
